Research

The long term goal of our research is to detect further understand, qualitatively and quantitatively, the chemical composition, structure, their interactions and roles in real time in biological samples or during a process using up-to-date analytical techniques including electrochemical methods like ultramicroelectrodes (UME) and scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM) and optical spectroscopy such as Raman, surface enhanced-Raman spectroscopy (SERS). In details, the research is involved in the following fields: 1. In situ and real time characterization of reaction intermediates at the interface to establish reaction mechanisms and further optimize surface structure hence the catalytic activity of the catalysts. 2. Biomolecules especially biomarker characterization, identification and real-time detection in biological samples. 3. Materials science: nanostructure and nanoparticles synthesis, characterization, assembly and applications including metal, alloy, polymer and metal organic framework (MOF).
