Florida Supply Chain Summit set for May 15-17 to promote state鈥檚 global network

TAMPA 鈥 Hundreds of public and private supply chain industry leaders from across Florida are expected to attend the 2023 Florida Supply Chain Summit, an annual gathering where leaders collaborate to promote the state as an international trade hub.

Summit speakers will tackle the complex issues facing Florida鈥檚 global connectivity network and look for ways to harness its growth. The summit will feature state and industry leaders from every mode of transportation 鈥 land, sea, air, and space.

鈥淲e have a tremendous program filled with industry thought leaders who will discuss Florida鈥檚 vital role in powering a strong global supply chain network. Panelists will dive into the state of the industry, its innovative technology, global trade trends, and the challenges of navigating supply chains in a post-pandemic world,鈥 said Elaine Singleton, co-director of the Monica Wooden Center for Supply Chain Management and Sustainability at the USF Muma College of Business.

The summit brings together some of the state鈥檚 leading supply chain management experts in industry, local and state government, economic development agencies, and academics.

The includes talks on Florida鈥檚 space commerce, global trade trends and policy, leveraging the manufacturing industry to promote growth, utilizing reshoring and foreign trade zones to grow the bottom line, and learning how smart technology is transforming data analytics and visibility in supply chain.

The list of speakers includes state transportation and trade officials, supply chain management consultants and business executives, and representatives from airports, railways, spaceports, transportation, and ports.

Some of the summit鈥檚 featured panel discussions include:

  • A Fireside Chat: The Last Mile with Bill Catania, founder and CEO of OneRail, a transportation logistics technology startup based in Orlando. The company is recognized as a leader in the industry and offers last mile delivery fulfillment solutions.
  • Closing Keynote: Industry Opportunity and State Growth with Andrew Koenig, CEO of CITY Furniture. Learn how CITY Furniture started from a store front in North Miami to becoming one of Florida鈥檚 top leaders in innovation, supply chain, workforce engagement, and growth.
  • Technology in the Digital 4.0 Supply Chain Age with Darren Hohensee at Veryable, Dave Maddox at Emerge, Matt Fain at PopCapacity, Reade Kidd at EDRAY, and Trisha Hendrickson at Ryder.
  • Rethinking Your Supply Chain Strategy with Harry Moser at Reshoring Initiative, Carlos Diaz at World Direct Shipping, Shane Williams at Ernst & Young, and Cheri Weaver at Fanatics.
  • Navigating Global Supply Chains 鈥 Post Pandemic with Jesse Kreinbrink at Rooms To Go, Jasen Holman at Bealls, Hady Jawar at Maersk, and Janice Lucas at Badcock Home Furniture.
