FCIC names new associate director

Beth Boone

Boone's research interests are positive behavior support and autism and related disabilities.

Beth Boone, PhD, BCBA has been selected to serve as the associate director of the Florida Center for Inclusive Communities (FCIC). Boone has dedicated her career to working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

Since 2019, she has served as assistant research professor in the Department of Child and Family Studies, directing the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities and The Learning Academy – both programs under the FCIC. Boone also serves on the Presidential Advisory Committee on Accessibility at USF.

In her new role, she looks forward to combining her background in intellectual and developmental disabilities and history with the Association of University Centers on Disabilities and the University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD)/Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) networks.

From 2014-2017, she directed the Institute of Disability Studies (Mississippi’s UCEDD). Boone also worked as a behavior analyst in Medicaid Waiver group homes and earned her Board-Certified Behavior Analyst designation in 2017.
