Vonzell Agosto named department chair of Leadership, Policy and Lifelong Learning

Dr. Agosto is a professor of educational leadership and policy studies and an affiliate faculty member in women and gender studies and educational measurement and research.

The 最新天美传媒 (USF) College of Education has named Professor Vonzell Agosto, PhD, chair of the Department of Leadership, Policy and Lifelong Learning. Dr. Agosto begins her appointment as chair in August.

鈥淎s a former department chair at USF, I recognize the importance of this position and the role the chair plays in guiding and supporting faculty, staff and students towards continued success,鈥 said R. Anthony Rolle, PhD, professor and dean of the College of Education. 鈥淒r. Agosto鈥檚 service and leadership at the University of South Florida makes her an excellent fit for this position, and I look forward to welcoming her to the College of Education鈥檚 leadership team.鈥

Dr. Agosto is a professor of educational leadership and policy studies and an affiliate faculty member in women and gender studies and educational measurement and research. She joined the USF College of Education as a faculty member in 2009.

Dr. Agosto鈥檚 research interests include curriculum leadership, disability studies and cultural (heritage, popular, material) studies. In addition to her research and scholarship, she focuses on mentoring students and faculty in higher education.

The Department of Leadership, Policy and Lifelong learning is one of four academic departments in the College of Education and provides advanced graduate study at the master's, educational specialist and doctoral levels to prepare students for transformative, critical leadership in scholarship, research, service and professional development. The department encompasses the following areas of study: career and technical/workforce education, counselor education, educational leadership and policy studies and higher education administration and college student affairs.
