USF Safety App

The USF Safe App is available as a free download. Smartphone users now have the ability to make emergency calls and other helpful functions to help improve their personal safety and security. USF Safe can trigger Mobile BlueLight to alert Police. An interactive map helps you navigate on campus and the toolkit contains a flashlight, alarm and more. Active Threat Information

Events of the past years have called attention to the need to be prepared for a wide range of emergencies. The tragedies on school campuses across the country caused schools to reassess their level of preparedness. The USF Police Department has continuous training for officers on responding to an active threat incident. USFPD and USF Emergency Management also partner to provide a series of active threat training courses for the USF Community.

Educational Programs

The USF Police Department provides a wide range of programs to the University Community aimed at empowering students, staff, faculty, and tenants to become partners in the detection and prevention of crime. Specialized programs as well as general safety information are available for individuals or groups of any size.

AlertUSF

SAFE Team

The SAFE Team provides transportation and escort from point to point on the campus. Do you have to go across campus at night? Don't take a risk by going it alone! The SAFE Team hours are Monday-Sunday from 6:30pm - 2:00am.

Campus Safety Guide

Schools must publish an annual report disclosing campus security policies and three years worth of selected crime statistics. Schools must make timely warnings to the campus community about crimes that pose an ongoing threat to students and employees.

Campus Security Authorities

Under the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (the 鈥淐lery Act鈥), Campus Security Authorities (CSAs) play a vital role in the timely and accurate reporting of certain crimes and incidents for each USF campus.

Street Smart

At USF, your safety is our priority. More than 39,000 students, 12,000 faculty and staff, as well as many visitors are going to class, work, and attending meetings, conferences and events on the USF Tampa Campus.

Sexual Predators/Offenders

Beginning October 2002, the federal Campus Sex Crimes Prevention Act requires institutions of higher education to issue a statement advising the campus community where they may obtain information provided by the state concerning registered sexual predators and offenders.
