Arabic
The ×îÐÂÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ (USF) offers beginning and advanced courses in Arabic. Our wonderful senior instructor, Salwa Amer, and her student discuss the advantages of studying Arabic in the modern world!
Applied Linguistics
The ×îÐÂÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ (USF) offers an incredible Applied Linguistics program for students from all around the world. Meet Dr. Judith Bridges as she talks about the myriad of wonderful career paths that Linguistics can take you to!
Chinese
The ×îÐÂÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ (USF) has a wonderful Chinese Language & Culture program. Meet Dr. Qin and her student, Rosemary, as they discuss (in Chinese) the significance of the Chinese language and culture in the modern world!
Classics (Greek/Latin)
The ×îÐÂÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ (USF) Classics program (Greek/Latin) is of special interest to students who wish to study broadly the literature, history art, and archaeology, philosophy, and religion of Greece, Rome and the Near East, equally emphasizing language and translation courses. Dr. Hedrick discusses the USF Classics program.
French
The ×îÐÂÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ (USF) French & Francophone Studies program offers solid academic and practical training in the language, literature, and culture of France and the French-speaking world in an engaged, full immersion environment. French TAs Abisola, Souzane, and Martin discuss the USF French program.
German
The ×îÐÂÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ (USF) concentration in German prepares students in communicative proficiency and cultural literacy so that they are able to competently engage in global and transcultural interactions in the 21st century. Dr. Schindler, discusses some of the courses and experiences within the German program.
Italian
The ×îÐÂÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ (USF) Italian program offers interdisciplinary courses in Italian language, film, culture, history, Italian-American studies, food studies, and environmental humanities that are taught in both English and Italian.
Japanese
The ×îÐÂÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ (USF) offers a certification in Japanese and helps prepare students interested in work in Japan, such as the for the Japanese Exchange and Teaching (JET) program. Our instructors Sensei Nozu, Instructor Hagihara, and their students discuss the many reasons to study Japanese.
Portuguese
The ×îÐÂÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ (USF) offers beginner and advanced Portuguese classes taught by our wonderful senior instructor: Célia Paula-Davies.
Russian
The ×îÐÂÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ (USF) Russian program seeks to prepare its students to understand the language, literature, and culture of Russia. Meet Dr. Peppard as he discusses the importance of Russian language and culture in the modern world!
Spanish
The ×îÐÂÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ (USF) Spanish & Latin American Studies concentration focuses on the language and culture of the Spanish-speaking world. Meet two of our amazing instructors, Dr. Brescia and Senior Instructor Jiménez, as they talk about the sense of community within the USF Spanish & Latin American studies program.

WHY STUDY APPLIED LINGUISTICS?
USF Student, Victoria Forbrich, and Dr. Vasquez discuss why applied linguistics is a fascinating field of study! Victoria is a Biomedical Sciences major with a minor in Linguistics and German. Dr. Vasquez is a Professor of Applied Linguistics.
