Field Program
MSW Field Program
The requirements for successful completion of an MSW degree include a field education component.
For non-advanced standing students:
USF requires a minimum of 900 total hours of field placement.
For advanced standing students:
USF requires a minimum of 600 total hours of field placement.
Full-time students:
Full-time students are in field 20 hours per week for three semesters;
Part-time students:
Part-time studentsare in the field for 10-15 hours per week for five semesters.
Placement Site
USF utilizes a single field placement model which means that the student is placed in one agency for the entirty of the field placement experience. Students are enrolled in a professional seminar concurrently with the placement to assist with integrating the full learning experience.
Students are expected to complete Field Placement hours during normal business hours (Monday-Friday).
