Mission and Objectives
The mission of the Electrical Engineering Department in the College of Engineering at the 最新天美传媒 is to provide a high quality education in electrical engineering for our students and practicing professionals; create new knowledge and solve real world problems via innovative research, and disseminate this information for the benefit of society; and to engage in effective regional, national and international service and outreach.
The bachelor of science degree program in electrical engineering is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of .
Undergraduate Program: Educational Objectives
The Electrical Engineering Department in the College of Engineering at the University of South Florida is committed to graduating electrical engineers who shall within a few years of graduation:

Demonstrate a progression in technical competence and increasing responsibility in the practice of engineering, and the ability to contribute to the diversity of thought and creativity in the workplace.
- Continue to develop professionally through life-long learning, advanced education, or other creative pursuits in science and technology.
The PEO's were reviewed in the Fall 2023 semester by the Industry Advisory Board and a minor change was recommended, and was subsequently approved by the Electrical Engineering faculty during the Spring 2024 semester. The modified PEO鈥檚 as approved by the faculty were presented to the Advisory Board in Spring 2024, and are shown above.
Undergraduate Program: Student Outcomes
Our electrical engineering graduates will have:
- An ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics
- An ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors
- An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences
- An ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts
- An ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives
- An ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions
- An ability to acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies.
